- fingerboard: rosewood 22 frets XJ with pearl dot inlays, 24.75" scale (628mm)
- electronics: Duncan Designed pickups or ESP pickups, Volume, Tone, Toggle 3 way selector
- hardware: Gotoh tuners, Nashville style tune-o-matic and stopbar
- logos and serials: XXXXX (5 Digits) serial number punched on the last fret of the fretboard (no serial in the back of the headstock) or only on the bolt plate.
-- front of headstock: "LTD" light grey/gold glittered logo for black guitars, black/gold glittered for white guitars
-- back of headstock: (nothing)
- colors and other features:
available in Black, Olympic White, Grey Satin, Midnight Purple, Gunmetal Blue (which looked black until it was in the light)
- notes: cheaper version of the ESP EXP

1997 - serial 28XXX --> 43XXX (MSRP in 1997: $795)
Made in Japan, about 300 pieces made, 2 dots at the 12th fret, 5 Digit serial number punched on the last fret of the fretboard or on the bolt plate (no serial in the back of the headstock). Exactly like the ESP EXP version but in a different line production.

1998 - serial 44XXX --> 45XXX (MSRP in 1998: $719)
Made in South Corea, "LTD" engraved at the 12th fret, 5 Digit serial number punched on the last fret of the fretboard (no serial in the back of the headstock). Exactly like the ESP EXP but with different circuit hole in the back and more light weight (alder instead of mahogany).

1998 - 1999 - (transitional series)??XXX --> ??XXX
Made in South Corea, "LTD" engraved at the 12th fret, 5 Digit serial number punched on the last fret of the fretboard (no serial in the back of the headstock). Exactly like the ESP EXP but with strange circuit hole and more light weight (alder instead of mahogany).

1999 - serial 9900XXXX --> 9901XXXX
Made in South Corea, "EX-200" engraved at the 12th fret, 8 digits "talking" serial number stamped in the back of the headstock.
Exactly like the ESP EXP but with more light weight (alder instead of mahogany).
